Jean-Philippe Morissette

Jean-Philippe Morissette

Ph.D. student in mathematics under the direction of Prof. Jean-François Ethier and Prof. Félix Camirand Lemyre

Presentation

As a teacher and research assistant specializing in statistics, Jean-Philippe believes that the learning and development of scientific knowledge is driven by the pleasure and interest of the people involved. Curious by nature, he tries to make the learning experience motivating and unique. For that purpose, he is ready to use new tools to promote understanding and the process of integrating knowledge.

He wishes to share his academic and professional experiences, while continuing to build his knowledge, and to relate mathematical and statistical theories to society’s current challenges and issues. Jean-Philippe firmly believes that the use and analysis of health-related data provides fertile ground for exciting learning situations and research problems. There’s no doubt in his mind that the impacts of this research can be major, both for the healthcare system and for the development of critical thinking.
